Leaving your child with a babysitter—whether it’s for a quick haircut or a well-deserved date night—can feel a little nerve-wracking. Even when you completely trust your sitter, ensuring they have all the right information makes for a smooth experience for both them and your child.

Instead of scrambling to write down notes each time you walk out the door, consider creating a Babysitter Info Binder or Folder. This simple resource provides everything a sitter might need, offering peace of mind for you and confidence for them.

What to Include in Your Babysitter Info Binder

General Information

  • Names of all family members

  • Home address and phone number

  • Parents’ cell phone numbers

  • Emergency contact (a trusted neighbor, family member, or close friend)

Medical Information

  • Any allergies (food, medications, pets, etc.)

  • Medications your child may need while you’re out

  • Location of first aid supplies

Where to Find Important Items

  • Spare house key

  • Extra diapers, wipes, bottles, and pacifiers

  • Flashlights (in case of power outages)

  • Emergency supplies (fire extinguisher, first aid kit)

When to Contact You

  • If your child is inconsolable despite their best efforts

  • If your child develops a fever, vomiting, or other signs of illness
